Jen Stokes

Marketing & Communications

With 18 years of experience in marketing, communications, and events, Jen joined the team at OCT in January 2024. Her role allows her to showcase the incredible breadth of community mahi, taking a storytelling approach that values manaaki and uplifting narratives.

She is deeply committed to sharing the stories of individual and community groups, believing that each narrative has the power to inspire and connect. By highlighting the diverse initiatives that make the region vibrant - from grassroots projects to major community events and infrastructure work - she hopes to amplify the meaningful work happening across Otago communities.

Her approach is grounded in manaaki, seeking to honor and elevate the voices and experiences of those doing the work at the community level. She aims to craft narratives that not only inform but also inspire others to engage, support, and celebrate the incredible mahi happening around them.

Based on the Peninsula, Jen shares her home with her whānau that includes her children, husband, as well as Monty-cat, dog Millie, and five chickens. In her spare time, Jen enjoys hands-on creative pursuits which include sewing, ceramics, weaving, and tending the garden.
