The Otago Community Trust is very pleased to be helping Dunedin’s Globe Theatre fix its leaking roof.

Repairs to the roof have been needed for some time, and require extensive and expensive structural work – the Otago Community Trust has donated $85,000 towards the cost. At the same time the Theatre is also insulating the building, and improving disability access.

Originally the home to a well-known Dunedin family, the Globe Theatre has Category I Historic Place because of its importance to the architectural, civic, cultural and theatrical history of Dunedin and New Zealand.

It’s hoped the work will be completed by the beginning of 2016. In the meantime, Globe productions are continuing in a temporary theatre at the Athenaeum in Dunedin’s Octagon.
