Funding Stories

We are thrilled to be a long-time funding supporter of the Otago Secondary Schools Sports Association (OSSSA) and their incredible initiatives, and we love these magic photos of OSSSA in action hosting the Otago Cross Country Champs at Kaikorai Valley College in June.

Over the last five + years the Trust has awarded an annual grant of $28,000 to the OSSSA to assist with the cost of providing enriching activities and tournaments for secondary schools across Otago. We firmly believe in the power of sports to shape the lives of young individuals and contribute to their holistic development.

Through our funding partnership with OSSSA, approximately 9,000 secondary students in Otago have been given the opportunity to learn valuable life skills, including teamwork, responsibility, resilience, and good sportsmanship. We firmly believe that participating in sports not only promotes physical health but also plays a crucial role in nurturing positive mental well-being.

Otago has truly set an outstanding example, boasting a remarkable 63% participation rate and earning the top rank among regions in New Zealand. This achievement is a testament to the dedication and hard work of OSSSA in providing a wide range of sporting opportunities for students throughout the region.

Join us in celebrating the incredible success of OSSSA and the bright futures they are shaping for Otago's youth. Together, let's continue investing in the power of sports and supporting the growth and well-being of our community.
