Central Otago Dance Development workshop 2012
11 Apr 2013
A three-day movement workshop in Central Otago in 2012 gave youngsters with no dance experience, a taste of what dance is all about – everything from hip hop and contemporary, to African dancing and drumming.
The Otago Community Trust donated $700 towards the cost of the school holiday workshop. It's the second time the event has been organised, and Central Otago Dance Development President Tania Mawhinney said there were many positives for the 70 four to 15 year-olds involved, including getting physical exercise, getting involved in and experiencing something different, and appreciating dance and drums. "It was loads of fun."
